Future Rock is electronic sensory overload. The trio has steadily been touring the US, electrifying audiences and developing a dedicated following during their journey. Their legendary late night performances at festivals and after-parties have quickly confirmed their status at the top of the live electronic scene. Coupled with an explosive light show, FR certifies an unparalleled multi-sense experience. The Chicago-based trio exhibits an uncommon grasp of minimalist, yet visceral, rock. Skillfully manipulating live loops, synthesizers, filters and an electronic drum kit, the trio succeeds in creating a larger-than-life sound that sends crowds into frenzies.

Mickey Kellerman and Felix Moreno utilize a myriad of synthesizers, electronics, and instruments to compose and arrange their instrumental music. The audience can rarely identify the origin of each sound. "I love that look of confusion... when the audience sees me play my bass and they have no idea what's coming out," says Moreno. Drummer Darren Heitz finishes FR's sound by blending acoustic and electronic drum timbres with live sampling/looping run through his synthesizers.

Kellerman explains, "We manage to pull off our live show while keeping pre-recorded samples to a minimum. Ninety-nine percent of our live show is live." This concept is at the core of Future Rock: technology has progressed so that real-time sampling and electronic synthesis can now occur on-stage. "Its really important to not get to geeky with our music. People want to hear songs with melodies or grooves they can dance to. Its a question of utilizing the new technology with the old song structure so that kids can rock out the same way, but to new sounds," Heitz adds.

SOMASPHERE - Lincoln, NE

Somasphere brings the low-end deep and dirty with both bass guitar and synth. While the rhythm section is powerful, many of the sonic textures that have come to define the band’s sound center on melodies created by both guitar and laptop based sample manipulation. Their unique approach centers on solid danceable rhythms created by the use of both traditional and electronic drum kits. The flow of these distinct, yet equally energetic sources allows the band to traverse the spectrum of grooves and tempos; from steady house, hard-hitting breaks, and intense jungle to mid-tempo and hip hop.

Living up to the three standards of “hard work”, “dedication”, and “integrity”, Final Summation is never a band to find solace in staying at home waiting for the multi-million dollar recording contract. Within a matter of 5 years, Final Summation has gone on 4 National Tours, 4 Mid-West Tours, countless West-Coast Tours, and numerous “mini-tours”. Playing with bands like The U.S. Bombs, The Vibrators, Civet, Flatfoot 56, Circle Jerks, GBH, The Hollowpoints, Left Alone, The River City Rebels, Street Dogs, The Real McKenzies and many more, Final Summation has done more than enough to earn their “road stripes” as one of the hardest touring bands to ever come out of Northern California.

For Final Summation, the road to Rock n Roll is one filled with pot-holes and detours. It also the road that quenches their thirst for writing, recording, and playing the music that flows through their veins. They are a band with whom “hard work” is found commonplace. They are a band with whom “dedication” is without question. They are a band with whom “integrity” is their building block.

Lincoln, Nebraska's Dirtfedd were discovered by Slipknot percussionist M. Shawn Crahan (aka Clown), who would later produce their debut album, "The American Nightmare," for E1 Records.

Released in 2009 and filled with numerous heavy-handed influences ranging from thrash and hardcore to industrial metal, the album capped a quick rise for the group, whose members include vocalist Dustin Travels, guitarists Eric Marshall and Brian Luginbill, bassist Scott Root, drummer Brock Wettstead, and keyboardist Travis Wagner. Slipknot's Crahan describes Dirtfedd's music as "right here right now." He adds, "They are from the Midwest, which gives them a big advantage in how to shape their own vision, rather than get caught up in clichéd scenes…I personally cannot wait until we give this art to the world. It's time things change.”

Head for the Hills - Ft. Collins, CO

Rooted in the tradition of bluegrass, the music of Head for the Hills is a vibrant mixture of homegrown compositions, traditional harmonies, and an innovative approach to improvisation that reflects the band's experiences living the mountain life. The group's lyrical nature and songwriting seems to evoke a feeling of inspiration in listeners, often embracing nature, personal epiphanies, or even their experiences growing up around Colorado ski towns. In the live setting, Head for the Hills can venture into a myriad of musical styles while staying in a context that is still widely respected by the traditional bluegrass community.
